For years the PBC trolls bashed Bud. Insisted he was overrated, ducking their fighters even though they were hiding behind Uncle Al Haymon. They hated on him because he was signed with Top Rank. It was all very tribal. Every big fight they doubted him, and when he won immediately shifted gears to bash the level of his opposition.
None of them could see that all of the fundamentals were there. Bud was always the complete boxer. But casuals who follow the sport typically have an agenda and don’t really know much about the sport outside of being a spectator. Never been inside a boxing ring, never stepped foot in a gym. Could never appreciate the talent and skill of Crawford while it was right in front of their face.
