Dirrell is green and still made Froch look like ****. Of course Calzaghe would beat Dirrell at this time. I'm also %100 certain that Froch would get his ass beat by Calzaghe also. I have huge respect for Joe, but I still don't understand him backing out of the Johnson fight 3x.

What 'arsenal'? That's Dirrell's entire problem. 'Slaps' or not, Calzaghe would land more scoring punches in three rounds against anybody than Dirrell managed in twelve against Froch.

Dirrell needs to sit and watch some Mayweather fights. Not because he will ever be anywhere as good, but to try and learn when and how to take the acceptable risks in order to land more yourself. If he can start landing even half as many good counter-punches as Floyd does, the kid might make it.

I thought it was twice? I know JC was rooting for Johnson when he fought Woods, he mentioned it quite openly in the newspapers over here at the time, because the idea was to pencil Johnson in for a fight. The only thing is Johnson lost. A lot of us in the UK thought he would fight Clinton after that. Another time he's supposed to have had a back injury or some ****, I dunno. I'm not aware of a third time of avoiding Johnson. But who knows, it's Calzaghe, he was temperamental.

I took the boxing lesson part as literal. Dirrell doesn't have the inside game to fight like Mayweather. The only thing he knows how to do when a fighter gets inside is run away.

I was told it was 3x's. One he had an injury, another was a divorce, and the other was another injury then signed to fight Manfredo. It doesn't matter because I believe Joe would have beat Johnson easily. But who knows it's boxing and styles make fights.

I agree he beats Johnson (probably by a decent margin) but Glen would give him a good fight. It's a shame it never happened.

If Dirrell keeps doing what he's doing and get better, work on all aspects of boxing, he'll be great. Because it clear that the skill is there. It was enough for Froch to hit him behind the head a dozen times...and not get a warning.

Still... 46-0 vs. 18-0? Vast difference in experience. Calzaghe wouldn't get a whole lot of credit for beating Dirrell.
At least he could beat him unlike that fraud.

Are you glad Abraham beat Taylor because Taylor beat B-Hop?
