Comments Thread For: California postpone ruling on Professional Boxing Safety Act as negative feedback rains in

The voice of the public was heard on Monday and the California State Athletic Commission listened. They now have to rethink matters following open discussions about the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act.

People need to look into the US representatives that brought this up. This turns boxing into a monopoly controlled by TKO. There is some crooked stuff behind the scenes here. People in power being paid off. T Brown must be getting paid to back this.
The Mohammad Ali act is the reason boxers have the ability to make so much money, if they play their cards right, they call the shots and promoters work for them.
Calling this new rule the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act is deceptive and trying to play people for fools.
People are going get paid off and the commission is going to backdoor this. Fighters are going to get screwed. Dana White and UFC fan boys will repeat the company line.

Good ****, don’t let it happen. As they’ve said, strengthen the act and add better safeguards if needed but don’t weaken it.

Why are we even letting a brand new player in and dictating the rules to us in sport they haven’t built? They haven’t earned the right…

Huh? If boxing was an actual sport, a meritocracy none of this would be happening. The ufc is far more of a sport & more fighters get well paid unlike boxings top overpaid 1%.

Boxing's broken & these twats leaching are why.

Man, everyone's been b!tching, whining and crying about too many belts/corrupt belt orgs, and boxers not fighting who they should/picking and choosing who they want, yet here comes a proposed change to make the sport closer to how we prefer and there's still b!tchong, whining and crying.

...then what’s going to happen? The exact same thing that you have nowadays with the sport of MMA, which is not structured as a sport. It’s monopolised by one company,”
And boxing is structured like a sport? It's about the furthest thing possible. Having everything under one umbrella would be a major step forward.

Why don't people feel this same aversion towards organisations like the NFL, NBA, MLB etc. which have the same type of "monopoly" over their respective sports that a centralised boxing league would?

Rachel Donaire of all people questioning what's good for boxing? I wouldn't put much thought into what a parasite like her has to say....

There's definitely changes that could be made to improve professional boxing but allowing a UFC -tyoe monopoly isn't one of them imo.
