"But there's a lot of people with different agendas who don't like their favorite fighter being called a cherry picker.”

says the guy who turned down a title fight v the russian guy then accepted the fight then turned it down 1 day later even tho he knew the ibf rules for the fight lol

this guy thinks hes the boss and can dictate conditions not just to belt holders but to boxing orgs as well

covering up hes almost certainly one of these large hydrators in the sport, just like what caused his issues at 147

I get that the subject of Boots, in general, creates a lot of tension, and is a polarizing topic, but are we even sure that Uisma Lima is a "bum" like so many fans have claimed? Sure, he may not be the big household name that everyone wanted, but a lot of times, we have to wait and see these things play out, before we can just assume. I remember it wasn't too long ago, that when Canelo/Bivol was signed, there was a huge contingent of fans calling it a "cherry pick" and how Canelo would win easily, that Bivol had nothing for him, etc. Look, I'm not trying to compare Lima to Bivol, I'm just saying, these things are never a foregone conclusion, and it's quite possible that Boots has himself a real test here for his 154 debut. For the record, I am also not a Boots apologist, I'm very disappointed with this matchup on paper, I just prefer to try to remain positive in a sport filled with so much negativity and haters.

yeah we should be thanking boots for potentially unearthing a diamond in the rough, i think this guy is the current reigning ibo champ & hes just after beating koopman and bhatti, not bad at all im sure u will agree

My real point is, that I feel fans are too quick to call certain fighters "bums." The matchup is very disappointing, but is Lima truly terrible? I honestly don't know, but I don't think I'd go so far as to call the man a "bum" as others have.

hes not a bum hes a decent pro boxer which is tough to do at the best of times but a lower level decent pro boxer thats all, no harm in that he might improve and climb the rankings but probably not we shall see, i think boots is 25 to 1 on to beat him so the bookies give him no chance whatsoever basically

Oh yikes, okay, thanks for that information, I did not realize that Boots was so heavily favored. And Vegas obviously knows what it is doing, more times than not. You obviously saw my point, so I appreciate your respectful reply...I just don't like being quick to call any fighter a "bum."

Let's compare Bohuchuk and Madrimov to Lima. Ok, no comparison. Show over. Ortiz chose two proven and well-known fighters and team Ennis chose an absolute unknown. The difference in confidence is glaringly obvious by the choices made. This is not a fighter who wants to fight the best or he would not be fighting an opponent that is known and for a lot more money.

Everybody expected more of Bootsy, at 147 and now at 154. In the end, so far hes been a disappointment. Period.

Left the wbo rankings when Bud was making nothing but mandatory and voluntary defenses. Then ducked Buds offer. Then claimed he wanted to become undisputed after Bud left and didn't even attempt to become undisputed. Then ducked the Ortiz fight on a huge card, to now fight the almighty Lima. FOH

both of them ducked bakhram and nobody wants to talk about it

we have crawford fighting canelo at 168
we have part time thurman fighting someone a foot taller than him
but both boots and vergil who are supposedly the boogeyman at 147 and now 154 are both fighting fringe contenders

                    they're not chasing greatness
they're looking for holes in others to be able to climb
pathetic overrated hyped up by fanbois bussys
