Most interesting part about this, is that he has offers to fight in Russia probably backed up by some investors with deep pockets but due to the madness in this world they wont allow putting on events in Russia.

It's just madness i can't remember the world cancelling the US after they invaded Iraq.

Listening to Garry Jonas (owner of ProBox) on Boxingscene's youtube channel a couple weeks back, it doesn't appear they have the money to stage the higher priced fights yet. They're hoping to be in that realm in the next couple of years. I suspect if the Ortiz opportunity didn't present itself that it's feasible ProBox could have won a purse bid with a low bid and then staged it on their channel.

Duva doesn't seem to have an "in" with any of these. I don't know if Pea**** is even doing fights anymore. And I think Amazon Prime is solely working with PBC. That doesn't seem to be going very well because they've only had 1 non-PPV event, which is a lot less than what Stephen Espinoza, who was kind of a spokesperson for Prime boxing for a while, was expecting. I haven't seen him in a long time, so I don't think things are going as planned over there.

A very interesting and revealing interview which speaks to the state of boxing generally and the US in particular. It's usually the Americans sitting around claiming they're "A side" while doing nothing.

Which is why they avoid high risk/low reward fighters like Bakhram Murtazaliev.
If I was Murtazaliev, I'd move up to 160 and see if Adames and Alimkhanuly will bite. It's clear that no one at 154 will risk fighting him, and Kathy Duva is a horrible promoter.

You are right. Kathy Duva has done business with Al Haymon, the PBC and Amazon Prime in the past when another Al Haymon fighter was involved Tim Tszyu.

Had Erickson Lubin decided to fight Bakhram Murtazaliev it would have streamed on Amazon Prime. However, I don’t know who Josh Kelly is affiliated with.

Perhaps, it’s Matchroom or Queensberry. If that is indeed the case. Then I cannot see a reason why this fight doesn’t stream on DAZN.

So Kathy Duva admits that Vergil Ortiz accepted a fight with Bakhram, he just wanted to do it without a rehydration clause. That’s understandable given his past issues with rhabdomyolisis.

Why didn’t Duva accept? Beggars can’t be choosers,

It’s right here in the very same article that you just posted in the comments section of.

“But it is frustrating – during that period of inactivity Ortiz Jnr was offered a fight with Bakhram twice and he turned it down. The second time he accepted it, and the next day came to the conclusion that he wasn’t going to be able to handle a second-day weigh-in”
