Comments Thread For: Serhii Bohachuk intent on showcasing improvements in Adams rematch
The lowest moment of Serhii Bohachuk's career came in a stoppage loss to Brandon Adams -- but it also provided him his most crucial lessons, Lance Pugmire writes

I expect Serhii to prevail in this one, he seemed in control the last fight but got complacent. Adams doesn't always throw a lot of punches but he has power and can can place some hard, well-timed punches on opponents.
Bohachuk needs to make sure he doesn't make the same mistake twice. If he doesn't, he should win by decision.

If Bohachuk losses that one or even doesn't win in impressive fashion he can forget a titleshot for a long long time. Adams isn't a top 15 fighter at 154.
However i rate Bohachuk in the Top 5 and 154 is an interesting division with a lot of high quality agressive pressure fighters. You have Ortiz, Bohachuk, Fundora, Baraou, Tszyu (maybe finished), Jesus Ramos
5 out of these fighters are ranked top 10 by the Ring Magazine. Now mixing in fighters like Bahkram, Lubin, Ennis or Madrimov who can do both box and punch and not to forget the inactive high profile names Thurman, Charlo and Spence (don't believe he can come back succesfully).
This division is stacked with talent and in the top 15 you only have one pure boxer in Zayas usually i favor pure boxers but the current version of Zayas would lose against all mentioned names maybe he could beat Ramos.
If Turki is a real boxing fan he should just focus on this division. Make an 8 man tournament with Ortiz, Baraou, Bahkram, Bohachuk, Fundora, Ennis, Madrimov and Zayas (only because he has a belt).
If a fighter pulls out due to serious injury which results in a long layoff there are enough options to replace them with high quality fighters or big names. It would only take 3 fights to have winner could be done in 1 and a half year maximum even if enough time to have fighters recover from injuries in between fights.

Great back story, great fight. I believe Serhii will win but there is that nagging possibility that Adams has his number.

In my dreams.... and I'd pay for all of them. But then the promoters/managers show up and my dream ends.
That line up is murder row, fighting that line up of killers (win or lose) will take years off a fighter. I don't believe Oscar will allow Ortiz to participate and the PBC can't afford to have Fundora lose his belt. PBC has some names in their stable but they're all past it. Bob Arum is smart, he saw Algeri/Spence and I doubt he would risk a young guy like Xander. I suspect Bob will continue to build Xander and maybe match him with a guy like Kelly, maybe in England.

Fundora will be losing his belt on October 25th. But PBC can afford it because the belt will stay in house with Keith Thurman.
