Ennis is doing what Ortiz did: acclimating himself to the new weight. Ortiz didn't begin his 154lb campaign with Bohachuk. I would've preferred a more formidable opponent for Ennis like Jesus Ramos, but I understand the Lima match-up.

Me too. I liken it to Mayweather - Bruseles.

The constant negativity on here is really wearing. Boots is obviously aiming at the top guys at 154lb. Despite some back and forth I suspect Boots - Ortiz will be next.

The silver lining is that Lima is WBC/WBA/IBF ranked, so this is a valuable tune-up.

I don't think Ennis/Ortiz will be next, forgive my pessimism lol. Even-though I think Lubin is decent preparation for Ennis, I expect Ennis/Tellez and Ortiz vs. Fundora/Murtazaliev. I don't envision GBP/MR working together to make Ennis/Ortiz if there's no title on the line....but we will see. Besides, a title fight is long overdue for Ortiz.

Vergil was coming off health issues.

Inueo and Crawford faced Champions after moving up, no acclimated needed.

Ortiz hasn’t been a champ a single day of his career. He has no pull, no legacy, no single reason to have any champion give into his demands. I swear, it’s always the same demographic of fans that really are the dumbest and out of touch. Go watch soccer.
You're an IDIOT, watch Zayas fight a Nobody at the level of Ortiz and you will still d_ck ride him. Zayas HAS NO PULL and won't even attract flies in Puerto Rico where there in No Money. Your fcuking r_tarded man.

WHERE IS TOP RANK OFFER. Nada they don't believe in their WBO CHUMP.

Zayas will fight a Nobody just like his last fight, Guaranteed.

Ortiz fought former 147lbers in Lawson and (a 21-month inactive) Dulorme to begin his 154lb campaign. Even-though Ortiz was returning from his own inactivity, those were still poor opponent choices. Lima is a sensible debut opponent, even if he isn't what we actually want. I also believe that Ennis doesn't need acclimation, and I hope he proves us right with a dominant performance. Fortunately, Ennis (October) and Ortiz (November) are on a similar schedule, so an immediate match-up is a realistic option. Do I think it'll happen next? No, but I do think Team Ortiz chose Lubin in order to prepare for Ennis...similar with Zepeda facing Farmer to prepare for Shakur.
