Because this fight is 3-4 weeks away, and there is very little buzz outside of the hardcore community. Arum is not a creative marketer, and thinks that granting access to reporters and having them flood the boxing boards with articles is good promotion.

What Team Pac fails to realize is that the same small group of guys are reading these articles every day. And they don't need to sell those guys, because they would buy the fight anyway!! Do you think the non-boxing fan is going to HBO.com/boxing to watch that 2 minute interview with Kellerman?

Do you think the casual fan is wondering what new effeminate tattoos Miguel has gotten?

What "promotion" have you seen for this fight outside of the traditional?
