He has not fought in a year. Knew he was going to sit out and wait for Canelo, should have been made to drop the belt. After Canelo he either retires or it'll be another year before another fight so why is he getting to keep the belt hostage when there are so many big names at 154 and match ups that can be made

you are right. crawford did that at 147 too. it's not only him though. several fighters held their belt hostage for no reason. i hate that whoever they are. but in this particlar case no harm's done because we will soon get wba mandatory fight tellez - baraou which will promptly be upgraded to primary wba title. then either jermell enforces his champion in recess shot or we can get unification. tellez - baraou winner will immediatelly be free to unify.
