Lots of people beat maidana better than floyd did, who didn't arguably lose to maidens too.

I had the first Maidana fight with Floyd very close or even that Maidana edged him, but I was drunk and never rewatched the fight, so perhaps I didn't see it clear enough. Granted, a rematch doesn't come without reason. I'm sure it was close enough that Floyd had to settle the critics who thought Maidana may have won the first.

My recollection vs Khan was that Maidana was nearly KO'd in the first, then out maneuvered for most of the first half of the fight and then Maidana started to come on strong.

Was just going to say this. Alexander had the easiest time with him and event Maidana acknowledged him at the end of the fight.

Maidana wasn’t training with Robert Garcia yet at the time of the Khan fight.

Robert really improved him and added some technical wrinkles to his savagery in my opinion.

Marcos Maidana vs Floyd Mayweather I & II 'Are the fights were Mayweather realized? His peak form had decreased. Those two fights are similar to Muhammad Ali's first two fights vs Ken Norton I & II'.

In the aftermath of the first fight? Floyd Mayweather Junior for the first time ever in his career as a champion 'Altered his training practices. And moved towards using more modern day methodologies for his rematch against Marcos Madiana II'.

Note: Floyd Mayweather Junior as a fighter throughout his entire career 'Had used old school training methodologies, he is one of the few modern day fighters? That could travel back in time to any boxing era, and be unaffected by the competitive environment'.

Whereas in reality? Fighters like Oleksandr Uysk, Canelo Alvarez, Terrence Crawford, Tyson Fury and even Anthony Joshua 'Would in my opinion all be unable to travel back in time, and compete in past boxing eras and still maintain their current form. Because they heavily rely on modern day training methodologies, and supplementation regimes'.

I have mentioned this before 'There are very few old school fighters, people within the boxing community especially in the media like to throw that title around. In this modern era of boxing fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Junior, Bernard Hopkins, Carl Froch, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Joe Calzaghe those have pretty much been some of the most prominent old school fighters. For the large majority of their careers, at their absolute peak they mainly used old school training methodologies'.

I know this is another topic 'But I always take this into account when debating hypothetical head to head match ups. There has been a lot of talk of late about Oleksandr Uysk, just like there was with Tyson Fury when he was a Heavyweight Champion. Guys? They would struggle to live and train during the 1960's and 1970's, and still maintain their current form which they have displayed in this modern era'.

Oleksandr Uysk is 220 pounds 'Because he has used body building techniques to pump himself up to that weight. Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Ron Lyle, George Foreman all of those fighters were boiling down to their fighting weight and focusing more on general conditioning and endurance. Yet they were still all bigger fighters than Uysk in terms of natural mass'.

Some of the only modern day heavyweight fighters that could travel back in time and maintain their form 'Are Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis'.

Floyd Mayweather Junior for his rematch vs Marcos Maidana II incorporated modern day training practices and he even worked with Alex Ariza as his strength and conditioning coach. But still in the rematch Mayweather's usually very high level of brute strength, was clearly decreased. And in my opinion even his endurance levels were not as high as his usual standard'.

As I stated at the beginning of my post 'Those two fights were a very similar situation to Muhammad Ali's two fights vs Ken Norton I & II. Ali for his rematch vs Norton II, trained with a very high intensity and work ethic. Both Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton were in supreme condition, to the point where I have always thought they may have overstrained slightly'.

Muhammad Ali won the rematch. But realized inside the ring during the post fight interview that the peak level of his game had decreased, this was clear to see even during the interview immediately after the fight'.

To conclude: Nevertheless I think Floyd Mayweather Junior overall may have done slightly better vs Marcos Maidana I & II than Amir Khan 'The reason why I say this is because Maidana did not hurt Mayweather to the same level he did against Amir Khan'.

I can understand why certain people would rate Amir Khan's win over Marcos Maidana as a better victory 'Because Khan's offense was more destructive than Mayweather's in that particular fight'.

But people must seriously take into account 'That this was a version of Floyd Mayweather Junior in the latter part of his career, now definitively outside of his peak. Floyd Mayweather Junior still found a way to win, during the build up to the fight nobody expected the fight action to develop the way it did in both fights. Because stylistically Marcos Maidana should have been a much easier fight for Mayweather if he was at his peak or in better form'.

That is why Floyd Mayweather Junior is a great fighter 'He was still able to win outside of his peak, against fighters like Marcos Maidana who were at their absolute peak'.

Note: I did not vote on the poll etc.
