    Cancelled My ESPN+ This Morning

    Cancelled my ESPN+ this morning.
There was a text field to enter a comment at the bottom of the cancel screen.
I wrote, "No more boxing on ESPN or ESPN+? Live boxing coverage was the only reason I subscribed."
    Who woulda thunk it?
In just the span of a couple of years, HBO, Showtime, and now ESPN are done with boxing.

I did that too, a couple weeks ago. That allowed me to watch the most recent event, and I could see nothing was coming after that.

These are strange times for boxing. People say it has always been like that, but I don't agree. These are the days of:

    1. circus fights,
    2. way too many belts, with awful mandatories
    3. No enforcement of rules and no consistency,
    4. fighters who fight annually or less,
    5. A guy with huge money giving thumbs up or down on matchups
    6. General public doesn't even know these fighters

I've taken my kids to model railroads, where guys host these elaborate miniature train setups. It's cool, but they're 100% old guys. That means young people aren't interested, so after this generation, that hobby will be a thing of the past. It's cool but almost gone.

Boxing is like that. A bunch of old fans enjoying what's left before it disappears in the way we knew it, and young fans who don't know how bad it is now, because they never knew it when it was much better. It's a niche entertainment now.

It’s sad man. HBO and Showtime hit way harder but I have some great memories of FNF on ESPN too, mainly just of Teddy Atlas losing his sh** which was always hilarious but also some great fights too.
