  • If GBP wanted to exit Garcia with a career ender...

It's happened many times in the past, with promoters matching a fighter they're frustrated with hard and selling it as "make or break". If GBP were thinking along these lines, who could they match Garcia with?

Could they force him up to 154lbs to face Vergil Ortiz? The beating he would likely take there would signal the end. But if by some miracle he won then his career is suddenly back on track.

Teo would REALLY get up for that one. A money fight; an easy pick.

However, now I hesitate…Garcia would be properly motivated more than ever and Teo has sometimes looked less than stellar. I’m sure odds would have Teo as the favorite…

But then I think of Garcia being such a big underdog at the bookies against Devin and he flipped the script. And then he was supposed to wipe the floor with Romero and he turned in an absolutely horrible performance.

I don’t know what type of Garcia I’m going to get at this point. He’s teetering on Zab Judah status. He’s got the goods and just when you think he’s elite, he lays an egg. And then when you think he’s going to lay an egg, he comes out guns blazing and fights like a madman.

Ah, to hell with it, Oscar make it happen! Teo/Garcia on the weekend after Haney/Norman or on the undercard.
