Zayas did good but showed some massive flaws at times. Those flaws should have been corrected by now.

Flaws like wastes massive amounts of energy with his ducking maneuvers which will get him tired and countered with the big boys in the division. He also lacks a polished inside game and resorts to holding at times lunging in to hold which will get him in serious trouble with the big boys in the division.

I also saw him get clipped with some shots that he should have seen like a right cross wind up from Garcia. How did he not see that. He reminds me of Carlos Quintana who was a good boxer but not elite.

Very mature performance by Zayas. I was impressed. He can only grow from here as long as they are very selective about his opponents.

Neither of these guys had any business in a title fight. They'd better keep Zayas far away from Murtazaliev, Fundora, or Tellez.

154 is wide open. Tell Mr. Zayas that Murtazaliev is looking for an opponent.

did he fight like that because that is who he is ......or was because of who he had in front of him, and who he had was not much. time will tell it was not a very interesting fight matter of fact very flat and i turned it off for a until later time--- the chances of it getting exciting were not very good and as it turned out to be true. He dont have the power .... he will need to use accuracy and precision to go forward i saw that.

Won't forget Benitez, Rosario, Camacho, Trinidad, or Cotto anytime soon, Mayas would get smoked by Fundora, and the Russian dude would be charged with murder....

Well this tells us the level of once highly touted prospect Charles Conwell. Zayas did what he needed to do based on who he had in front of him. Win is a win and belt is a belt. Onwards and upwards. We will see how he does against Fundora (or Ortiz) as that who he wants next. Nobody will fight Murtazaliev so Zayas will either fight Fundora or Vergil Ortiz Jr. Vegil has yet to fight for a belt after all these years of being a top contender. Maybe the time has come to challenge for a title. Oscar will certainly throw money his way as he does not want to have a bar of Murta.

I think he will sit on his title and defend it against mandos and voluntaries for as long as possible and avoid the other sharks at 154 - at least thats what i would have him do - and the reason is because he is so young - not even in his prime yet 25-28) . I read that he's already big at the weight so he can move upto MW without facing a huge danger.
