No clearly not, but he is not a power puncher either.

You guys are confusing "Skill" with "Will" if the former can't triumph in short order the latter will always come out on top. Same as in life.

No I'm saying he shouldn't ducked certain fighters. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best, which Jones clearly didn't do at light heavyweight.

i have'nt seen the fight yet so i cant make judgement on what all of you saw, but it sounds to me like hes just not what he used to be, the comment about pressuring jones may be true now that hes older but it has not always been like that. find jones fight with bryant brannon and tell me if you've ever seen a bigger charge on roy jones. it did'nt work for brannon but obviously that was a long time ago and jones was still prime time.

thats all ive seen too...and i cant believe it either...when tarver kod jones at least jones was throwing a punch.

i think that roy was so worried about the big ko punch that he just stood thier waiting for it and then it was too late.

i wonder what hes doing right now.i want to hear his views on the fight and his career.

                    another thing is

a major reason in my opinion why got knocked out is because he is still trying to box the same way that he always has. obviously he probably wasn't mentally there and he just doesn't have the same speed that he used to but...

                    1. his hands are NEVER up
                    2. he should have used more upper body movement
                    3. he should've moved around rather than staying near the ropes
                    4. he should've jabbed more even though he's not a great jabber so that at least he can open up some holes...

i don't know...i don't get it. these are things that he can still accomplish...who knows what's going through his lately

I think we ALL just have to sit back and realise that this is the end of an era of one of the most talented fighters to have ever entered the ring. Not only did he lose interest in the fight game before the first Tarver fight he also lost something even more important that i didn't realise truely at the time and that was his heart. As soon as the heart dies then it doesn't matter how much talent you have all, been in the ring with a VERY hungry fighter like Johnson is a bad combination.
