He needs to get back in the ring. Looks like Ortiz is waiting for his email belt as well.

I hear you. I think the combination of Bakhram's injury and the IBF has led to this. Hopefully he can put on another destructive performance and rumble with the other big guns in the division.

The euphemism for this fight is "good matchmaking", right?
Just enough credibility so it doesn't smell like rotting fish at the wharf, but not enough threat to derail the big money fights ahead.
No disrespect to Lubin, just calling the levels as I see them.

Murtazaliev needs to fire his entire team (but he wont due to loyalty). They are mismanaging his career badly and he has been left forgotten on the sidelines. He destroyed Tim Tszyu and yet Tim managed to recover mentally from this brutal loss (which takes time) have a warm up fight against Joey Spencer and this coming weekend he is fighting again for a title. He has made money and is likely to be a title holder again positioning himself for even bigger money fight.

The way Bakhram is going he is going to have to start driving cabs to pay the bills. Cathy Duva keeps talking about opponents but nothing has actually been made. Unbelievable.

                  Wouldn’t say it’s a matchmaking choice .

Lubin is mandatory , so Bak would be stripped if he didn’t fight Lubin.

No one in the division is mentioning Bak’s name, so I’ll take a mando fight against Lubin instead of him sitting on the shelf and hoping for a big match up.

OK, I didn't realize Lubin was a mandatory. DOH - it's right there in the first sentence of the article.
So much for my attention span.
And honestly, sometimes a big money fight can't be made and a boxer needs to stay busy.
If that was the situation and Lubin wasn't a mandatory, it wouldn't be the worst matchup, either.
Lubin has been hovering just under the top tier for a while and is a good fighter. I'll be happy to watch this one.
