Why doesn’t Hamzah Sheeraz have to fight Christian Mbilli?

How does he get to go straight to Canelo?

And why does Sheeraz get to skip over Jermall Charlo who is ranked #1 by the WBC?

These are some shenanigans being pulled by Mauricio Sulaiman and Turki.

First off, the fight is far from official. Next, Charlo's ranking is dubious to begin with. Last, it would presumably be considered a voluntary defence.

Mbilli should probably attempt to have his mandatory position enforced but I suspect his people will be happy to let him defend his 'interim' bauble and wait for his email belt.

It’s far from official and Canelo still has to get past Crawford.

But Turki is already calling for it and what the money wants the money usually gets. I just don’t see how the WBC can justify this, the other top fighters in their rankings should be furious.

Sheeraz just defeated Berlanga (WBC #5), so he's done more to earn his ranking than Jermall. Turki said he would like to have Mbilli on a Riyadh card, and Sheeraz/Mbilli would be a GREAT match-up.

Why doesn't Crawford have to fight anybody at least at 160 if not at 168?

Crawford is at the top of P4P lists and is one of the best fighters of his generation so he is going to get a pass.

Why does Sheeraz deserve a pass?

Hamzah at least has 1 win at 168.

Crawford has zero wins even at 160. he is only an old welterweight.

hamzah is more legit fight for Canelo, sure. Fighters should fight guys from their weight divisions, not old undersized guys.

Canelo - Crawford is a garbage fight.

The Benavidez situation was far more egregious and they got away with it.

Great clash of styles, would love to see it.
