His son is a recovering addict. And I’m sure he’d never throw him under the bus if he’s (Jr.) genuinely in recovery and trying to stay on the wagon.
Having said that, if anything should’ve gotten Jr. fired up for a fight it should’ve been this. Whatever nine lives he’s had in his career, they’ve unequivocally expired. The bar is so high right now for redemption for him in boxing, he’d have to right now randomly have a one off with Bivol at this point at a cruiser weight catch weight and beat him.
I took an L last night thinking he was going to genuinely beat Paul down the stretch or at least making 25% competitive (or ANYTHING). I strongly think the strategy was to let Paul expend himself through the first half and then come on strong…too little, too late.
I’m not hating on Paul, though. Bringing new eyes to the sport, fighters getting paid…it’s just weird to see how the paradigm has changed.
Who in the boxing business thought back in 2005 that:
*Jake Paul would be selling out arenas as a boxer (not in YouTube fights).
*Saudi would be closing in on a 2 year stretch of making big fight after big fight after big fight.
*Tim Bradley’s sparring partner (or future sparring partner) would be in a looming mega fight with Canelo Alvarez……..at 168.

This was his last chance to redeem himself but that wasn’t the case as we witnessed a two round fighter

Too far back. Youtube was made in 2005 wasn't it?
alot of the stuff you named was just out of nowhere and farfetched for that year. Like asking who would of thought boxing would be on streaming apps in 2005?
