It has nothing to do with gullibility. These sorts of events are for people who are happy with their lives, enjoy a good fight and have some spare cash. Forum losers are not their target audience.

This fight is definitely NOT for boxing connoisseurs. Not for boxing fans either. Not even for casuals, actually. It's for nostalgic drunken Brits with nothing to do on a Saturday night.

She says she'll never go back to England because "it's horrible now, a mix of white trash and m-u-s-l-i-m-s, piss drunk men and S-p-ic-e girls wannabes... basically a country with no future."

England has a rather large population, your wife was probably exposed to bad areas. I do recognise some of what she describes, though.
