why would he be afraid of benabum??? canelo already has losses on his record so it's not like he's protecting his perfect record... plus canelo has fought way more dangerous fighters than benabum... in pro boxing, at this level, no boxer is afraid of one another.. like i said, benabum's approach must have rubbed nelo off the wrong way and nelo knows that he can still make big money fighting other fighters so nelo is not desperate to give benabum a payday because nelo can make the same or more fighting other fighters. so this is kinda like a slap to bena's face from nelo. remember what cotto said about margarito, cotto said that he will never give margarito another chance at making money again for fighting him, so this is the same mindset that canelo has with bena.
