"The marketable Cordina had decided before entering the ring against Cacace that that fight would be his last at junior lightweight."

Think Cordina accomplished pretty well and earned his status having beaten two super featherweight world champions in Ogawa and Rakhimov. He also beat a ranked tough contender in Edward Vazquez who was coming off a streak of wins after a controversial loss to Raymond Ford. Albeit, his win is also debatable, with it being by majority decision.

However, I am not sure Cordina's skillset will translate well moving up at Lightweight. He isn't small at 130, he for sure made use of his longer dimensions for his textbook style, without that quality he is quite reliant of, how will he perform at 135? There is a reason why he struggled a lot with Vazquez, Rakhimov and Cacace.

Dont sympathise with the guy who was known to price himself out of fights with warrington and wood. Wanted bigger paydays then he warranted, and when they wernt offered chose happily to sit on sidelines.... paid the price for his stubborn as he was pretty darn good when he was on point.
