I haven't followed Kelly's career closely but one could reasonably infer from this article that he hasn't had enough consistent mental focus to become an elite challenger, let alone a champion. It's worse than a chore to become a fan of a fighter who constantly sabotages his own career.
"The velvety-fisted and fleet-footed Kelly is convinced he is hitting his peak."
"Velvety-fisted”? LOL What does that even mean? That he can't punch?
Golf is ridiculously the definition of an abusive relationship. You can love it, and I do, but it just beat you down and laughs at you. But it is such a fantastic place to be to kind of let the stress of the real world fall away for a while. I think it's incredibly healthy for him to have something besides boxing.
