He’ll be remembered for being the only lineal heavyweight champion in history floored by a 0-0, 0 KO’s opponent. The greatest goat of all time, the only man to beat Dereck Chisora 3 times: The Tipsy King!

Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Louis, Patterson, Johansson, Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield etc. never beat Chisora 3 times. Not one of them. Despite all the odds; depression caused by being caught for PED / boar meat use, SugarHill lying about not training him when he was actually training him, Usyk ducking him etc he beat Otto ”All in” Wallin and a another guy with a 0-0, 0 KO’s record by split gift and beat ”Twerking” Deontay twice!

His legacy is beating Wlad Klitschko, but cowardly ducking a rematch.

His legacy is beating Wilder 3 times.

      His legacy is beating Whyte.

His legacy is losing to Usyk twice.

Not much. Personally, for me, Fury is the biggest waste of talent in the last 20 years.

We could have seen him fighting Povetkin, Parker, Zhang, Dubois, Joyce, Joshua, Ruiz...

      It is what it is.

Anyone really believe what fury has to say anyway.
i don’t believe Tyson is finished with his Career. For some one who love’s the money he’ll be back . As for Legacy it’s simple really. Fury is third behind Usyk Joshua but a head of wilder. Both Fury Wilder are stuck together. Personally I put Joshua above those two although Joshua is slipping badly . This is why Fury Joshua will happen. It’s been a Brit’s Era in the heavyweight’s until Usyk came along and Showed them old school. Bigger isn’t always better is it . Fury’s legacy compared to past great’s is very Very poor . But so is any heavyweight in past 20 years. Although not a great I’d back Vitali Klitschko to hang with any Era.

I get that boxing news sites have a lot of space to fill but I find these obsessions about fighters' standings in history mind numbing most of the time. It takes quite a long time for these things to crystallise after a fighter retires.

Let's not forget, large parts of the US establishment were very anti-Lewis during the time of his reign. Primarily because he had the audacity to be an individual rather than play a role that was expected of him.

We're deep into the low activity 'event' era of prize fighting and it will be a long time before we understand how that fits in a historical context.

The fact that the author puts crawford ahead of fury in terms of first ballot hof says it all really.

A lot of the criticism is justified. He lied a lot, he lied...a lot, he may or may not have eaten tainted meat, he clowned when he should have been focused, he canceled fights, he likely only showed us his true potential a few times.
All that said, the hate for this man is so unfortunately strong. I bet this comment section will be full of dumb names people will call him in a failed attempt of wit and folks saying he was trash. I don't get the levels of that hate.

My wish is that he stay retired.
I admit to hoping to see him get KTFO when he did fight; such are the rewards for being a contemptuous blowhard. And yet I'd prefer to not experience that animus and focus more on the sweet science rather than the petty and personal. Usyk - DuBois will be the requisite fresh air in that regard.
