A do enough to get by mentality.
In a mega superfight Floyd ran, clinched and had his handpicked ref assist him with getting a decision on the judges scorecards
Maybe if the question was who was the most frustrating fighter to fight Manny would have said Floyd in that case.

Manny didn't say anything about his supposed bum shoulder going into the fight and says that the Floyd fight was boring because of him.
I thought he was going to say that his toughest fight was the 3 KO losses and when he had a child out of wedlock and had to argue with Jinkee.

anyone with 2 working eyes could see that Marg was a tougher fight for Pac.
Floyd fight was difficult in that he just couldn't get to Floyd. It wasn't a painful or tough loss otherwise.
I didn't watch the the video yet to know what other ones might of been his toughest, though I would add Agapito Sanchez who fouled Pacquiao up until the end of the fight where they declared it a draw some how. Then I would say Marquez 1 and 4. He nearly had Marquez out in 1rd only to go through hell for the next 11. Then Marquez 4, well, we all know how that went. I almost thought Pac was going to come back after himself being dropped first, then dropping Marquez (at least making his glove touch down). Only to get iced a few minutes later.
The Thurman fight looked tough too despite a solid first rd. Reminded me of the Margarito win. Pac had to keep fighting almost nonstop to prevent Thurman from dropping bombs on him.

Sounds like 48 underestimated Floyd’s defensive genius and got outclassed. Styles make fights—Floyd’s precision and ring IQ were too much. A punching bag might engage more, but it wouldn't outscore the best since Sugar Ray.
Floyd is TBE

You can make fun of Manny, but this is how guys ALWAYS act when they take part in interviews like these.
"The hardest puncher I faced was the guy that buzzed me and then I KO'd in the 8th. Not the guy that knocked me out with one punch. Not the guy who broke me down, dropped me five times, and stopped me in the 7th."
"I may have eight losses, but the the best fighter I faced was some dude I beat easily"
Flip through any Ring magazine over the years - It's always some bull**** like this. Very few fighters have their egos enough in check to be honest.Last edited by paulf; 06-04-2025, 02:03 PM.
