  • Has anyone here been to a fight in Saudi Arabia?

Turkey can put on some good cards some of the best we seen in years But when it comes to live events he very underwhelming.

1st has anyone here been to the fights in SA? I feel like he is dropping the ball in having the fights out there because not to many people is going to fly out there just for a good match it has to be may vs pac type of event. I understand they want to make that the boxing Mecca but come on.

the haney vs teo fight should have easily landed in New York or Vegas. Now you got two Americans fighting in a foreign country. And don’t get me started on that Garcia vs rolly card catastrophe. How do you have a deep card like that but closed off to the public? Its almost like he is going out his way to sabotage himself lol

Ain't worth it imo. No drinking, no women, no clubs, no parties and what looks like a boring crowd.

I like the fact Turki is making good/great cards happen but would rather watch them at my house or bar.

Yeah, the events look like a lot of glitz and glamour from the lights they put on and prefight hype, but when it comes to the actual event, the crowd being mostly lifeless sucks.

Did we already forget about the crazy $$$ they must of spent on that Haney-Garcia prefight commercial prior to the Times Square card? Was that all for nothing? Talk about going out of your way to hype up an event that wasn't in the pocket yet. So happy Rolly ruined that and come to think about it, even with the win, Haney ruined it too. You couldn't pay me to watch that dude fight.

I’ve toyed with the idea for a while but haven’t ended up going. As others have stated the lack of atmosphere is just a massive turn off. If a Crawford-Spence type fight I desperately wanted to see happened in Saudi, I’d probably bite the bullet. Would probably stay in Dubai and just commute to Saudi for like 48 hours just for the fight and weigh in maybe too.

"Come to beautiful Saudi Arabia, half-way around the world, and experience jetlag mixed with heat exhaustion like never before! Behold, our beautiful women, covered from head to toe, with only their lovely eyes showing! Oh, but what lovely eyes they are, there are none finer anywhere else in the world! Enjoy our scenic sand dunes, a true feast for the eyes, almost as lovely as our women in their elegant, flowing burqas! And after you've had your fill of our lovely land, come to the fights! Where we have no round card girls at all, no alcohol, and the area is filled with hairy Saudi men, wearing robes and tablecloths on their heads, that they're constantly adjusting! Come one, come all!"

You see im not bothered about finding women there and having alcohol. Saudi Arabia may suit my personality.

I used to go to Mecca every year for the Haji Pilgrimage. I've since turned my life over to Christianity. It is a beautiful country. Tons of museums and what not.
