Comments Thread For: Even if Moses Itauma is boxing?s Next Big Thing, he needn?t be rushed

It seems like heavyweight Moses Itauma?s future coronation is a done deal, but promoter Francis Warren knows there will be obstacles to overcome on the journey ahead.

At 20, you could afford to rush him, lose his O, build him up and have another run at a strap in 5 years.

I say throw him in the deep end and let the kid sink or swim.

Fück all this take your time bullshït!

He'll be developed properly cuz he's signed to a real promoter in Warren.
If he was with money-hungry Hearn, he would've been destroyed by now.

I have stated this before in previous posts, Moses Ituama could be right now at his absolute physical peak 'But he seems not to have the supreme conditioning of Mike Tyson. He looks to have those Rid**** Bowe type genetics, but? I have not seen Ituama display the boxing ability of Bowe'.

Not every single fighter, peaks or maintains their form the same 'People automatically think that Ituama is going to keep increasing is game. In order for a fighter to keep improving, I think they need specific attributes and skills. One of Anthony Joshua's best attributes as a fighter, beyond all of his athletic attributes was? His ability to learn and absorb information. It was that fundamental skill which enabled him in the Amateur ranks to win World Championship Silver Medal, and then the Olympic title in a unprecedented time frame. And in the professional ranks, Anthony Joshua fought Wladimir Kiltscko in his 19th professional fight. Which was the greatest heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years'.

Note: Frank Warren expertise as a promoter is developing professional fighters 'And this is done by a gradual increase in competition, or being match against opponents that are going to push them at certain points in their careers. In recent times? I would say that Tyson Fury throughout his career, was managed and developed best as a Heavyweight fighter. Fury was progressed in the game the old fashion way, both through the British domestic and European levels'.

Anthony Joshua in comparison? When he became a World Champion, Eddie Hearn could have actually matched him in better fights. Contrary to certain narratives, Joshua during his first Championship reign at times fought unnecessary fights. Mainly against Andy Ruiz Junior I and Oleksandr Uysk I, they were both worthy challengers but? Joshua was always the Champion taking on all comers, while Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder were playing around ether fighting each other or competing at domestic and European level as World Champions'.

To conclude: I personally think within the next 12 to 15 months 'Moses Ituama's team, will have to move him up through the levels. If they don't do this? Then this suggest that they don't believe he is good enough, and there is something lacking in his game. Surely if Ituama is training with fighters like Anthony Joshua and Fabio Wardley, people close to him should know right now? Whether Moses Ituama is good enough to become a World level Heavyweight fighter'.

I personally think Moses Ituama is a talented fighter 'I have been impressed with his aggression, and punching power. But? I do have concerns over his conditioning, and I wonder whether skill for skill this guy can actually box at a very high level. It is not apparent whether he has any real high level game, due to his lack of feats achieved in the amateur ranks and his quick knockout wins so far in the professional ranks' etc.

Confidence and colorful personality are good. Marketable. Young bro needs to be careful it doesn’t come off too aloof. Hasn’t been really tested yet

Itauma SEEMS like the real deal and has done what he’s supposed to do so far but let’s withhold judgment until he faces his first REAL challenge. Then we’ll see what he’s made of or whether he’s another Audley Harrison. However, so far the signs are very encouraging!

No need to rush him, he is not ready for top 10 guys, but he needs better opponents.

I am sure he is more than ready for somebody like Wallin. Franklin would be even better. How about Gassiev, who is high ranked, but hasn`t done sh.it at hw.

Bring the kid somebody who will last at least 8 rounds.

                    Losing builds character.

And isn't he top 10 himself, so shouldn't he be fighting his peers by now ?

He's either the latest, greatest British hype job or not, but there's no time like the present to find out!
