Nishida can't bust a g**** , Nakatani is going to murderalize this guy. I'll be up for it too. I don't mind getting up early for these cards from Japan , the fights are always worth it , especially when it's THE MONSTER or Nakatani fighting. I look forward to when they fight each other. That is going to be epic !

The fruit that wine is made out of needs to be censored now ? Come on BOXING SCENE , get some AI with some common sense. This is ridiculous .

You just have to spell it Elmer Fudd-style: Gwape
So tomorrow morning Angelo Leo vs Tomoki Kameda is on ProBox at 4 AM Eastern live from Japan.
Obviously not a must-see Inouye or Nakatani fight, but Leo produced that spectacular one-hitter quitter against Lopez, right?
So is this a crazy hour fight from Japan you'll get up to see?
I will, mostly because I want to know if Leo is on to something.

I do think Mexican and Japanese fans are similar in that they expect their champions to get it done without the preening and drama OUTSIDE THE RING. Also, the look-at-me-look-at-me behavior is considered undignified for an elite athlete, especially in combat sports. This is a cultural holdover from bushido.

BTW I was lucky to catch Johnny opening for a local Top 40 rock band many decades ago. Him and his Firebird were still boogie to the max. We left after his trio finished their set.

it's kinda weird, because japanese are starting to dominate boxing in the lower weights, but in mma/ufc, there is really no japanese champion in any of the weight division. a lot of them kinda sucks to be honest lol.

both have that "kill or be killed" mentality. they dont really be running around, etc. they go in there and fight. a lot has to do with pride. they have a lot of pride for their country.

Not so weird because, after pride left, Japan lost interest in MMA. Gyms closed, younger generation moved towards other sports like boxing. Guys like Inoue are attracting a new demographic.

because there is no champions like Inoue dominating. That's why it died out... even in the pride days, the japanese champs would get murk by american fighters and fighters from other countries.

I think back then during the height of mma/pride, the generation of japanese fighters at that time was too polite and nice... they dont have that same mentality such as Inoue and Nakatani and other japanese boxers of today.
