Did Canelo not train properly or age?

From his physique to the very start of the fight, I got the sense that Canelo didn’t prepare to his full potential. His punches looked slower and lacked that usual explosiveness. I get that Scull is quick, but this stood out to me from the first round. Honestly, it felt like either Canelo didn’t train as hard because—let’s be real—who is Scull? Or maybe time has finally started catching up with him. This is all just based on the sharp drop in the speed and snap of his punches.

He trained fine he just has cement feet. It's a lot more evident now at the last stage of his career.

At this point in his career, Canelo feels he is too big of a name to be chasing any fighter, in or out the ring.

Scully also didn't do much hitting to deserve to be chased by Canelo.

Both of those things, also you can throw in the fact that you can tell he doesnt care any more. No spark or urgency, just there to pick up the saudi paycheck.

My thoughts exactly, that he didn't look good from the beginning.
But I didn't think it was because he didn't train properly but that he just looked very worn-out, old, tired and uninspired from the very first rounds.
He doesn't want to face anyone dangerous anymore but you see that he also lacks the motivation for these type of fights.
If he keeps on fighting, one of these days one of those cherry-picks who might not show up for a paycheck but for his belts, will get the better of him.

Btw. I believe Canelo is only matched by Devin Haney on the p4p list (if you still place them on that list) when it's about not stopping an opponent in more than 3,5 years.....
For someone who people (and he himself) believe is a powerpuncher, that's incredible.

That’s what it is, he’s uninspired
and at the same time I think father time is really catching up.
            he just looked sluggish

Almost every guy who fought this weekend was terrible. Abysmal performances all around, a lot of pattycaking imo.

These guys were alright I guess.

Turkey is just overpaying these guys and they have no incentive to perform, Scull could probably retire now.

3 million dollars apparently and the guy was never good at boxing. thats a great deal. got a gift vs shishkin and it was the gift that kept giving because canelo saw a bum with a belt and knew it would be an excuse to explain away his blatant ducking for the last 5 years of benavidez. how can you say im ducking im unifying the belts derrrp. how can you say im ducking im fighting teeny tiny charlo and crawford or bums like berlanga munguia etc...

Canelo was at his best. The punches landed numbers did not include the invisible work that he did, which was very high. Nash out - His Majesty
