For someone thats got such a skill he fought a dumb style fight-wise, Maybe it was the occassion that got to him but he could have beaten Froch much much easier..Instead of the horrible show he put on last night.
My thoughts on the Froch/Dirrell fight..

Good post.First of all, i think Froch won. If it would have been an amateur bout, then yes, Dirrell should have won couse he piled up more points. But the thing is that this is PRO boxing, Froch is the CHAMPION, you can't take the belt away by running away. He hit Froch a lot but those were flashy shots, Froch landed the harder blows, which count more in PRO boxing. I dunno why it took the ref so long to take away a point from Dirrell, that was just ugly. Froch was the AGGRESSOR, CHAMPION and landed the harder blows in my view. NB! Dirrells handspeed is sick, give the boy some time and he could DEFINATELY be something special in pro boxing.
And Froch controlled the pace of the fight - that's not important in the amateurs, but it's part of ring generalship in the pros.Comment

What did Froch do to win this fight? Dirrel fought his fight landed his shots and kept his distance fighting on the outside(it's called boxing)..Froch simply failed to fight his fight and the one who looked hilarious was the fighter who tried all fight to land a big shot missing wild and horrible, The frusteration on Froch face says it all...Froch dictated everything. He had Dirrell running around the ring all night who had to hold on for dear life, even resorted to hugging which was hilarious.
When Dirrel let those combinations fly he caused Froch a world of trouble
.Can't remember the round but Dirrel hit Froch with a left to the temple forcing Froch to the ropes and he used his right as a measuring stick to land his left.
But apart from that Dirrel looked scared and unsure of himself.Comment

strip away emotion, strip away subjectivity, strip away what kind of boxing YOU like/don't like and it will be clear that Dirrell won easily. Although I think he will become a better fighter because of this loss. I think he saw in the 11 & 12 that if he lets his hands go combined with his reflexive speed he can be a nightmare for anyone at this level.Comment

I agree. Dirrell was definitely has better boxing ability than Froch, but his gameplan stunk.
Dirrell didn't win last night, but he could have won, if he had not been afraid to box and fight more, and run/hold/fall/***** less.Comment

I agree with TS, thanks for having a brain!

A robbery is when one fighter clearly wins. Did Dirrell clearly win? No. Neither of them did. If it wasn't for the point deduction, the majority of the scores would of read 115-113.
It could well of been 114 - 114. Or even 115 - 113 in favour of Dirrell. But Froch did a lot more than you guys think in that fight. The Yank commentators were horrible, wouldn't get off Dirrell's nuts. Froch countered a few times in the fight, which went unnoticed.
All Dirrell did was show Froch the back of his head and the side of his face. Dirrell could have been deducted another point. Both Froch and Dirrell caught each other with solid shots. Most of Dirrell's flashy shots landing on the gloves.
If Dirrell had thrown more combinations and had looked like the clear winner. Then you have a case, but he didn't.
Hometown robbery?
That's kind of hard considering that the 3 judges and the ref weren't British.
Here are the judges scores;
114 - 113 to Dirrell
115 - 112 to Froch
115 - 112 to Froch
I see Froch ahead by 2 rounds. I think it's fair to say that anyone who scored that fight had quite a lot of close rounds that could have gone either way.Comment

dirrel resorted to hugging and holding whenever Froch got close and ran to the other end of the ring when Froch was trying to engage.
How can you expect the judges to give Dirrel to win?
Dirrel just didn't do enough to win. TBH i am glad he didn't. Dirrel is a boring ass fighter who showed that he has mad skills but for some reason, whether it's because the occasion got to him,or he was scared of Froch, didn't want to let loose his combinations.Comment

You can criticize Dirrel style all you want(running, bitching, etc.) Dirrel frusterated Froch, out jabbed him, out punched him, landed more effective punches and staggered Froch in the late roundes, You don't give a fighter points because you rather see a slugfest than a fighter using his boxing skills.dirrel resorted to hugging and holding whenever Froch got close and ran to the other end of the ring when Froch was trying to engage.

Not really impressed with either of these two clowns. One guy holding, running, falling down and complaining like a fruit. the other palooka with no skills at all, cant cut the ring off, and running in with his chin,. If Coward Dirrell would have sat down on his punches instead of running he would have knocked him out. I like Kessler or Abraham in this tourney. Im American and can only hope Ward comes to fight and not run like a scared little boy.Comment

no matter how my times the above statement is said these ******s wont get it and if you cant understand the statement above you should stop watching boxing and watch wwe. you dont have to be a brawler to win a fight morons. You can criticize Dirrel style all you want(running, bitching, etc.) Dirrel frusterated Froch, out jabbed him, out punched him, landed more effective punches and staggered Froch in the late roundes, You don't give a fighter points because you rather see a slugfest than a fighter using his boxing skills.Comment
