A light-middleweight champ jumping up a couple divisions to 68?

Sure it's unusual but tbh it really doesn't seem all that complicated, especially after Eggs Benedict vs Dessicated Eubank.

Last night on the True Geordie [The Ring] fight commentary show, they saw Crawford live in the ring and said he looks to be walking around at about 200 lbs (couldn't tell you how many stones and pebbles that is) but looked natural carrying that weight.
So maybe the weight jump isn't going to be a big deal for him.
I would love to see Crawford dominate Canelo.

I personally don't like the fight and would rather see Canelo finally face Benavidez, but if anyone has earned a "leap-of-faith" fight, it's Bud.

If Bud loses but makes a real fight of it, it can be better than his win over Spence. Losing can be better than winning. Duran reputation was increased losing close decision to Hagler.

It's not so much the power, as the loss of athleticism that Bud will lose by moving up so much.

Since there's no random drug testing for this fight; Then I pick Crawford to win. It's the only way Crawford can win if there is a level and even playing field where both fighters are on roids.

It's crazy that this fight is even being considered.

Exactly. Aside from being blown out in the first minute, losing isn't a stain if the effort and what goes down are respectable. Tommy Hearns lost his two biggest fights against Hagler and Leonard, but at least he got in the ring. No fan chastizes him today for losing to these two.

Bud said his max is 154 2 years ago before. He also fights once a year. Is doing the same now. Is older than Canelo and lot more inactive. He won't even hit the scales at 168 will come in less if the fight happens. I know he is 2x undisputed but could have had a better resume of opponents. 154 is stacked so thought that was going to happen but instead he is going for Canelo payday then possible retirement. Would have rather seen 2 fights this year vs Ortiz/Fundora/Thurman/Murtalaziev/Charlo
