A large proportion of Mayweather's fanbase was broke American men. By "supporting" him on the internet, it was almost as if they were wearing the designer clothes and shiny ***ellery (i.e. vicarious living).

There's a meta-discussion to be had about what all this says about western materialism but it would be way beyond the simpletons in this thread. Reading Tim Kasser's The High Price of Materialism requires more attention span and less instant gratification than just regurgitating the same talking points that make you think you're "winning".

As far as the boxing goes, I want to see entertaining, competitive fights.

It's like Hagler said. They should be paying us to watch some of the garbage fights Mayweather put on.

Someone appears not to like having a mirror held up to their repetitive and immature behaviour*.

(*To unsophisticated Americans that's called having a whacky sense of humour.)
