Comments Thread For: Aaron McKenna comes of age with dominant performance against Liam Smith

There might not be a more impressive example of a fighter moving up in class than Aaron McKenna?s wide decision win over former world champion Liam Smith.

Great display from McKenna, even though smith looked shot to bits. Another Irish win against the hated enemy.

Sometimes a fighter just gets old in the ring. I hope Liam has enough put by to never have to fight again. I also hope Pad is joking, particularly since I think the Smiths, like so many scousers, are of Irish descent.

TBH, more white English people have Irish ancestry than don’t. Unless they are ***ish, obviously

Liam Smith is now washed up British boxer, he’s won a major title before and it’s high time he goes into retirement

Impressive. I want to see more of McKenna. TBH I'd never seen him before. This fight kinda reminds me how Dimitry Pirog dismantled Daniel Jacobs.

Pirog moved well, great feet and good hands. He had "groove". You could tell he did his homework and studied American boxers, he wasn't boxing like a European. Such a shame his career was cut short.
