"The flip-side, as contended by Team Benn, is that tonight Eubank will be the bigger man and – suggested Eddie Hearn – he might have a weight advantage of more than 10lbs."
The extra 10lbs is no advantage in this instance, he'll just weigh more & have a dessicated brain.
Speaking of professional boxers, I was disappointed to see George Groves - who I otherwise like and consider to be a good pundit (his podcast is excellent) - say that Eubank Jr has been 'unprofessional' by not making weight. Maybe he was, but surely it's far more unprofessional to fail two drugs tests?! The way this goes unmentioned half the time during the coverage is astounding (and probably legally enforced). It's good to see some of the boxers above come out in support of Eubank Jr both in terms of the rehydration clause and the desire to see him win over someone who failed two drugs tests. The only thing you can say about the rehydration clause is that Eubank Jr must have agreed to it. I guess the lure of a £10m payday was too much of a temptation to turn down. I just hope he hasn't made a serious mistake with the weight, and in particular with the same day clause, and put himself at a massive disadvantage.
