Liam Smith just needs to get a win 'And by the looks of it? If there is to be a trilogy fight between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Junior. That fight would most likely be at 168 pounds. As I think Eubank Junior is really struggling to make the 160 pound weight limit'.
Chris Eubank Junior started his career at 160 pounds, and then after winning is Lonsdale British title vs Nick Blackwell 'He moved up to 168 pounds. All of Eubank Junior's best wins and pure boxing performances outside of his fight against Blackwell have been at 168 pounds'.
I have always rated the trilogy fight between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Junior 'To be a bigger and more significant fight than Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Junior. I would also imagine that it would attract a more hardcore boxing fanbase, which would only increase the prestige and significance of the fight'.
Note: That is one thing I have noticed about Benn vs Eubank Junior 'I don't think from what I can see? The large majority spectators are educated boxing fans. I think there are many people just there for the occasion, and they don't really know the history in-depth which has ultimately created this fight i.e. their fathers battles and rivalry'.
If Chris Eubank Junior does not fight for a world title next 'He still has multiple big domestic level fights, which he can potentially be involved in. Fights against Liam Smith III and even Kell Brook'.
To conclude: There is no real pressure on Liam Smith in the remainder of his career to win a world title 'As he has already achieved this feat in his career. Smith in my opinion is continuing to fight on, for vengeance vs Chris Eubank Junior and business opportunities. Ether Conor Benn or Chris Eubank Junior could fight Liam Smith next; those three fighters have seemed to be interlinked with each other for some time. The match ups in terms of the character dynamics is intriguing, in all of those potential fights'.
I have not seen much of Liam Smith opponent Aaron Mckenna 'From what I have quickly analysed he seems game, but technically a bit all over the place. Liam Smith does not have many super hero level attributes, but he is a very compact and refined fighter with his style. Systematic with his style and attacks, if Smith is in solid form then at the very least he should win the fight over the distance on points' etc.
No need for a trilogy. He was getting schooled the first fight till the round he won in which it was clearly an elbow he caught Jr with which then let him get off the other shots that dropped him. Then got schooled in the rematch. Can't see Eubank rematching Smith or Benn as after this he should really be going up to 168
Not to hate on Beefy, he comes to fight and can be entertaining. But he was, is and will remain a "local" brawler who has gone wayyyyy beyond his capacities and has hit his level of incompetence ages ago. Simply put, he needs to go.
