This column is not a declaration of war, nor a sign or submission, but a lamentable indictment of the shift in journalism away from a traditional version that has long been established and respected – even if sometimes grudgingly. This isn’t only in boxing, either. It is rapidly spreading across the sporting landscape. It is unfashionable for journalists to ask hard questions. It is far more fashionable to want to be friends with the figures who are meant to be covered with a discerning eye.

I respect this statement, although I'm not sure that a website can class itself as 'traditional' when newspapers are being accredited.

I do wonder whether there is any reflection that maybe they're not trying to crush you, but that they just think you've become less relevant in the last couple of years.

Personally, I think the standard has dropped. I also suspect Eddie Hearn would have his greatest enemy or most vocal critic at one of his fights if he thought they would reach enough eyes.

Boxingscene was always the best boxing website on earth so why try to destroy it from within with this new format which is an absolute eyesore?. It used to be easy to scan the articles, now this goddamn horrible colour combo and left right left right scan format. Jesus christ if this is progress whatever agenda there is against Boxingscene they dont need to do anything, you are bringing yourselves down. Its like a work experience kid was put in charge of how the web page looks and works.
