It's probably over at the top-tier level, but his willingness to be on Dalton's undercard in a stay-busy illustrates his humility and level-headedness. If he can handle his stay-busy and then Conlan, I'd like to see him vs. Bellotti.

i believe he is done, just postponing what is already the end of his time in the ring. Whatever he was he is not anymore, if he had power to keep people off him if he showed that his will to fight could overtake his diminished skills but to find that he " fears " the end so he will fight again ? i know it happens retierements come and go then fights get lost after the last lose. The worst he could do is get into close fights that last better to leave ahead of time then after your time.

10 months between Lopez and Wood fight, and 11 months between Wood and Cacace. The inactivity has done him no favors.

He's addicted to boxing and I sympathize with his fear of having to give up a part of his life that has given him structure. Every boxer will have to find a constructive way of filling that void. He seems to know that the end is near, but he still feels physically capable of choosing a better exit than his performance vs. Cacace. He might be the sort of fighter that needs his love for boxing to be beaten out of him. Hell, maybe he calls it quits after his fight on Saturday.
