15 fights and no big name on his ledger
I never thought Stanionis had good footwork knowing he just likes to plow forward but what was surprising to me was he had no power
I was happy Boots did what he was supposed to do which was get him out of there with form , which he did
Boots doesn’t need my accolades but needs to fight the upper echelons of his division and hoping he’s on that track
Imo , a better fight than this one will be against Norman Jr
Not saying he’ll win but will be much more competitive than last night’s fightComment

From my point of view, it looks like Boots is finally maturing. He accepted less money to get a meaningful fight and invested in his future by showing he believes in himself. He was patient in the ring and dissected Stanionis slowly not going for a quick KO and exposing himself to unnecessary counters.
Yes it is true, they are all email champs but that is the best of what is available at 147 right now. Let's see how he goes with Norman. I still think Boots's first main real test will be at 154 when he fights someone his own size who can punch.Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-13-2025, 04:34 PM.Comment

I didn’t rank Stanionis high

The only thing that really surprised me in that fight was how quickly and easily Stanionis and his corner gave up. Even though he landed a few clean shots on Boots he never really went for it and try to hurt him. I know Boots skills were far superior but fighting for two belts at a career high payday on the biggest stage of your life and surrender like that - he looked like a real undeserving email chump.
I think his corner realized that there was no reason to continue the fight since his power couldn't cut it
Let’s be realistic , that was his only chance at winning
I never for a minute figured he would outbox Boots
He was a punching bag no matter what angle Boots was in , he was connecting
Maybe even size played a factor in the fight although I do believe Boots had to work hard to make 147

Can’t really blame Stanionis as it was his corner who called itComment

Eddie the snake Hearn, is a fck'ing lier bruv. Can't help himself, He just opens his mouth an s.h.i.t. spurs out of it.
my bet is that he told Ennis to say that, seen as Stantionis team said the pay wasn't right for a unification bout. But Stantionis said he told his team to accept it anyways.Comment
