Stannaonis has never even fought an elite fighter. Neither has bootsy. I told u Stan was the only semi respectable fight for him at 147. Fair, he won it impressively. Now he’s trying to take a step down in competition by fighting barrios and Norman lmao. Barrios already lost to Thurman who’s probably about the 8th or 9th best fighter at 154. Stan never fought anybody in his entire career. I mean it’s sad to see talent squandered like this. I rate Vergil above bootsy cause 1. Bootsy ducked Ortiz 2. Ortiz has fought and beat former champions and title challengers. Bootsy hasn’t even faced a former champion. Stan his best win and he’s an unknown email champ who had never even been in the ring with a world class fighter. Just my observations man

I already agreed with you that WW division is the worst we’ve ever seen. If Boots is staying at 147, he’s only doing so to unify. Once again, while the trinkets mean zilch to you and I, for marketing purposes and historical records, “the 2nd man to unify 147 division” is a selling point.

Saudi Arabia will pay big money to stage such mismatches. Somehow, boxers and fans from other parts of the world put Americans on lofty pedestals. Do you recall when Broner was rumored to fight in the UK and how the UK fans kept raving about him being an American champ or former champ?

Perfect example is Pacqiao - dude is revered for being the “only 8 division champ in history” but when you slice and dice that record, it’s a joke of a resume with some dubious catchweights to add to the 8 division BS.

The business side of boxing will never be a thing to admire but it is what it is.

While I do acknowledge his great win over Thurman, I discredit his dubious 150 Ibs catchweight fight for a vacant title against a coming off a spectacular KO loss Margarito for a “record 8 division title”. That statement is very self-explanatory.
There is also the 145 Ibs catchweight fight for a WW title against Cotto. I could go on and on but those two will suffice.

Boots is capable of unifying 147, 154 and 160. He is capable of being the only man in history to unify those three divisions. And just like Manny, he gets anointed an ATG but you’ll have a problem with it if it does happen. If it’s good for Manny, it’s gotta be good for anyone else.
