    Jeff Lacy V.S. Jermaine Taylor

Can someone explain the circumstances, as well give me record of their fight in the amateurs? I have heard that Taylor beat Lacy, and if anyone has this video it would be much appreciated.

First off, I would like to know what you guys think about Lacy's chances at reigning at supermiddle, as well as Taylor's chances against Hopkins (although discussed already). What does Taylor have that Lacy does not? besides his style, height, and reach.

Which stands a better chance against Hopkins, Tito, Sturm, as well as other middleweights?

I didnt know they fought in the amateurs so I cant speak on that. I think Lacy can reign at 168 for a long time but mostly just because there arent any good fighters there really. I think Lacy is solid but nothing really special. He is all power and I think that is even a littile overrated. He has no defense and gets hit way too much. I think he can dominate 168 but on the other hand, I wouldnt be surprised if he got KO in his next fight, especially if it's Calzaghe. I think Taylor is better at everything except full cordination.

I think all 3 guys have a good chance against X because of there style and his age. I have said many times that I think he is slowing and is not the hard core beast that was pre Tito. I think Sturm's size, jab, and defense would give X problems. I definatly think that Lacy's size and power would give X problems because of the weight advantage. I think that Taylor's overall skill and youthfullness would give X problems. I always thought that Taylor was super talented but didnt have a great boxing IQ and wasnt full coridnated. I thought he over used his jab too much and was too cautious for his talents but every fight he has improved and I think X is slowing down. I am picking the upset in this one and I think the kid's jab will give X problems and I think that he will win most of the exchanges with his overall aggresivness and fury

Do you think it would suit Lacy well to move up in weight? or perhaps move down? I agree with the "not so special" part, however his punching may be overrated: But is an effective equalizer in fights. The big money would be for him to move down and fight Taylor or move up to Lightheavy, which would be an absolute no no.

As for Taylor. Lets assume he beats Hopkins. What would he do after that? fight mandatories? take the exact same path that X has taken for years? or would he not make that mistake, and fish around for bigger fights?

Lacy is stuck I think because like you said, he shouldnt go up to light heavy but I think his body type is too big to go down to 160.

I think Taylor is also maybe in trouble. On the other hand maybe not, he could be set for awhile. If he wins, then he can fight Tito, then Vargas, then Ouma, Forrest, Spinks. I think alot of guys would want to fight him but he might get criticize for fighting smaller guys but thats where the money is so what can he do
