If you are 1-4 in the last 5 fights, it is time to rethink ypur position.

"I’ve still got my wits about me"

Isn't THAT the time to retire?
So you keep your wits about you?

No defence, gassed after four rounds…if he continues he’ll be at the 6–8 round level.

If there's reasonable calls for Aj to retire on 6-4 then for 1-4 Joyce it's pretty obvious.
Like Del boy Joyce is a likeable character & i wish them both good health. If he continues he should go back to British level, maybe Whyte can be remade or Hughie, Adeleye, tkv or someone like big mac, Torres... there's fights to be made.

Hrgovich is a stiff. Yeah, he can put a combination together once in a while but he gasses fast. I think he'll be sleeping on the canvas if he keeps fighting.

If Dubois smashed Hrgovic, but you can't, then it's time to hang it up. Hrgovic isn't a bum, but he's not someone you should be losing to if you expect to have a future in this sport.

I always though Hrgovic would win this fight so I don't see a problem for Joyce. Joyce is still taking shots that would stop other HWs. Joyce needs to fight someone less durable because he doesn't punch that hard. Not sure why they put him in with Hrgovic when he needed a win.

Well no doubt Dubois won but there were a lot of head butts. Dubois quit against Joyce and Usyk and got put down 3 times in one round by a journeyman in Lerena. I would say Dubois and Hrgovic - we still don't know how good they are. Dubois is largely living off a great win against Joshua. But Joshua has a terrible chin and terrible recovery. How would Dubois fair against someone more durable?

We can hope over the months he takes to recover from this, there is enough people who care about Joyce that he may rethink his position. But if he continues, he will be a gate keeper. I know that there is money to made as the guy developing fighters test themselves against, but usually gate keepers have a decent set of skills. Joyce is just there to be hit. He is going to be hurt. It is scary.
