Anyone Surprised at How Well Received Taylor Was in Germany??

It was very surprising to me at the reception Taylor got during his introduction in Berlin. The german fans gave him his props even though he was facing the crowd favorite. An ovation that i dont think a foreign fighter would ever in the USA until they earned it throughout the fight.

yeah, it was clearly the song. I think JT did it for a couple of reasons. 1 is because the song "BAD" plays off his knick name of "Bad Intentions" and 2nd, Europe loves MJ. That was super smart by him and I think some fans went easier on him for it

Yeah I think Michael Jackson played a major role in that. I mean how can you boo someone who comes out to Michael Jackson's music especially this being the year that he passed.

Probably because Taylor is a very likable person. I feel sorry for the guy, he must be really down now.

JT is the **** but I think he should retire. I don't want him to risk his health and well being, there's more important things than boxing.

seriously, I do. It wasnt even about Taylor at that point. They heard the MJ song and went crazy. They are still mourning him over there

Yeah, so far for me, Germany is winning the whole international relations thing. I was a bit offended by Britain's treatment of Dirrell.

But, I guess JT did approach the whole thing a bit different than Dirrell did. Dirrell talked some ****. JT sort of quietly went over there, plus he has a record of having some good fights. That probably helped him, his rep.

That's what I was thinking. I wasnt so much offended by Britain's treatment of Dirrell as that what we've come to expect when a fighter goes over to another fighter's backyard. But Berlin has shown a good recent record of treating the visiting fighter pretty well. I remember the good reception Sam Peter got when fighting Vitali as well.
