I like George, he beat a big mouth he wasn't supposed to beat in his hometown, the only controversy was that it wasn't a unanimous decision victory.

I'd be pressed to think of a boxer who leveraged so many big fights and good purses based off one brilliant victory, the only other guy I can think of is Jesse James Leija, who beat Azumah Nelson, lost in in first defense to Gabe Ruelas and then had some big payday losses against Gatti and Tzsyu, maybe some others I can't remember.

I hope George gets his final title shot, as undeserving as it is, roll off into the sunset having made some good money and fought some of the biggest names at his weight class, even though he lost to all but one of them.

He also beat American former IBF lightweight champion Mickey Bey in the US and British former IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby in the UK. That's how he ended up in the Lopez fight to begin with. He didn't just pull off one road upset, he pulled off three in a row. Anyone who says they picked Kambosos to beat Bey and Selby is lying.

How about a “fair’ rematch with Maxi Hughes, instead of jumping the long line of “deserving” contenders, and shut up about all this Ancient Greek bloodline garbage. He’d be hard pressed to even beat Zorba the Greek, never mind anyone in the top ten!

I dont understand Kamboso. He has road warrior credentials to make Tim Tszue cry with envy but here he is trying to drag Teo to Australia. Why? His best wins are on the road, he loses in Australia.

The problem is that Lopez is the champ again and Kambosis is not. If they fought again, it would be right back in NYC.

Lopez doesn't want or need this rematch. Hell, I don't think anyone even wants to see it. It's too late for it to mean anything.

Fluke win for George. That fight had eight different dates, six venue changes, multiple lawsuits. I don't think that he has Lopez's number, at 140 he gets murked.
