Calzaghe is levels above Ward until proven otherwise, who has Ward really beat except a shot glass jawed Miranda who he couldnt even knock out? Ward and Calzaghe are similar especcially when it comes to punching power because they both got none. If you think Ward will beat Kessler just because Calzaghe did you are dilusional.

I'll admit Kessler's resume is not that good but it is 10 times better than Wards.
That wasnt the question. Its funny every time someone says Kessler is proven and I say, ok, against whom? I never get an answer but a comeback of who is Ward proven against. Again that wasnt the question.

Kessler has beaten Librado Andrade, Anthony Mundine, Dimitri Sartison and Markus Beyer, all of those wins are miles better than Wards best win which is against a shot glass jawed Miranda who he couldnt even knock out. Im not sayin Kessler's resume is great or anything but it is a hell of alot better than Wards. Now answer me who has Ward proven himself against?

See, Ive never compared Kessler's resume to Ward's, but Kessler's fans always do. Ward has only had 20 fights compared to Kessler's 43 and Kessler's resumes leaves much desired.

In terms of slickness i'd argue that Ward is better than Calzaghe too, Joe was a man who threw a lot of punches in bunches and countered well but he was hardly what you'd call a "slickster" like Floyd, Guzman, Dawson, Gamboa etc was he? and that's something that Kessler hasn't really faced before, he's used to people standing in front of him and trying to beat him at his own game but with Ward he'll be facing someone who will move him all over the place and hit him with loads of speed, Ward's combo's are also at a very high level too, and for all of Kessler's experience who has he faced? Andrade, Calzaghe and then WHO? hardly any other major names on his record so lets not even go there, and when you consider that he's away from home and hasn't had many fights lately then it's clear he's in for a very tough night against Ward imo.

and as for your last sentence, Ward has only faced bums. his best win is a shot Miranda who is pretty much a journeyman now. yet you accuse Kessler of facing bums? I'll admit Kessler's resume isn't all that much but it is way way better than Wards.
Why do people forget that Kessler was badly hurt from a Calzaghe body shot and was lucky to have the ref save him? He admitted after the fight that he was hurt.

Ward took flush shots from Miranda so I really don't think his chin needs to be questioned.

Anyway, I agree with IMDAZED. I think Kessler has the advantage in power and he can throw some great straight punch combinations, mainly the 1-2. However, he's fairly one-dimensional where Ward does everything good, but perhaps not great. It's an interesting match up and it's hard for me to pick a winner.
