BoxingScene was in full force in Las Vegas for the Manny Pacquiao vs. Erik Morales super fight. The noise level in the arena was so loud that at various times during the event you couldnt hear the person sitting next to you talking.
Erik Morales, coming in to the fight as an underdog, pulled a few rabbits out of his hat and showed why he is regarded as one of the best little men in the sport. I've learned over the last two years that you can never count a Mexican fighter out, especially when the odds are stacked against him. Barrera was demolished by Manny Pacquiao in 2003, came back in 2004 and has resurrected his career as one of the best fighters in the sport. Juan Manuel Marquez, made a miracle comeback against Manny Pacquiao after being dropped three times in the first round of their battle. Morales lost his rubbermatch with Marco Antonio Barrera in 2004 and appeared to be for the taking in the Pacquiao bout, but Morales put on a 5 star performance to get a very deserving unanimous decision.
BoxingScene caught up with Erik Morales and got his thoughts on the Pacquiao fight, a potential move to 135 pounds and a fourth fight with his Mexcian rival Marco Antonio Barrera.
BoxingScene: Congratulations on a great fight. How tough was Pacquiao and did you expect him to be this tough of an opponent?
Erik Morales: Pacquiao is a very tough guy, I knew he was tough before this fight was made and I worked very hard to prepare myself for this fight.
