The first half of Kovalev - Ward I was such a frighteningly good performance that with the KD considered, there was literally NO way Ward could win on points without KD's or deductions at the start of Round 7.
The fact that Ward avoided getting KO'd & then actually came back into the fight was close to miraculous, for several reasons including Kovalev's performance.
By the end, we were screaming at the TV for Ward to knock him out & it looked like he might even pull out what would have been THE most dramatic finish since Taylor vs Froch... but he didn't and yeah, long story long Kovalev won the fight with his best ever performance against a fellow ATG (which Kov is at LHW).steeve steel likes this.
