Just ask anybody in the game about him and try not to be surprised by their response
He's Russian with a drinking problem (I know.. bit redundant..), so what do you expect? I myself don't blame the Ward fight for his downfall. BUT I do believe that he won the first fight, and I also believe that had he gotten the decision, the second fight would not have played out the same. And I will add this, Ward is an all time great and a HOF, and nobody had done this to him, nobody. This says a lot about the Krusher.

The Yarde fight IMO showed him at his best... coming back from that 8th round was brilliant.

He was still a douchebag of a human
This has nothing to do with skills
He’s not the first or last fighter to get screwed

            Agreed.

The first half of Kovalev - Ward I was such a frighteningly good performance that with the KD considered, there was literally NO way Ward could win on points without KD's or deductions at the start of Round 7.

The fact that Ward avoided getting KO'd & then actually came back into the fight was close to miraculous, for several reasons including Kovalev's performance.

By the end, we were screaming at the TV for Ward to knock him out & it looked like he might even pull out what would have been THE most dramatic finish since Taylor vs Froch... but he didn't and yeah, long story long Kovalev won the fight with his best ever performance against a fellow ATG (which Kov is at LHW).

Kovalez often had issues with stamina. He was boxing beautifully against Canelo and leading on the scorecards, then crashed...Same against Eleider Alvarez. He almost choked against Yarde. The talent was there, but not the discipline outside the ring. And let us not forget that Ward retired after those 2 fights against the Krusher.

Kova won the first fight against Ward but it was a political decision at the time.
