I think you’re underestimating the setback for Hamzah: he looked like total British hype job. He had reach and height advantages over Adames yet spent the first half of the fight running and circling. Also the general perception, fair or not, is Hamzah got a gift draw because Turki backs him - and that’s not a good look either. He’s been exposed.

I agree. Sheeraz didn't really seem to try very hard given the opportunity he had. With all the physical advantages he had it is mind boggling he didn't use them effectively. When he did use them he was doing well, but the problem was that he stopped using them. Not a good look. he did not seem to be hungry enough. Perhaps he was scared? Maybe a couple of punches rattled him? I am not sure but he did not come out of his shell for long enough to win the fight that was set up for him on a silver platter.

Thank you both for your comments. I guess I'm willing to take at face value the word from Team Sheeraz that he hurt his left hand — his vaunted jab hand for helping utilize those advantages you mentioned — very early in the bout. And I'm willing to wait on being too harsh with judgment for now. Both of you may still be proven right.

I thought Sheeraz won the first 4 rounds and then just abandoned his plan of fighting at a distance. It was weird to see the abrupt change in his tactics.. Did he run out of gas or did he think he would do better at fighting inside?.., where he hardly even worked.
