I don’t get why Croke Park won’t give Katie Taylor her big homecoming. It’s shameful. Just make it happen.

Madison Square Garden is the best choice if they can’t do it in Ireland. All the Puerto Rican and Irish in NYC will make for a great atmosphere, just like they did for the first fight.

Do any of y'all Irish people on this site know what the deal is between Croke Park and Katie Taylor ? Why is that stadium or whatever it is so against letting Katie Taylor ight there ? I've read on a number of occasions of her promoters not being able to make a fight for her at Croke Parks , what gives ?

You've made me use up valuable internet time looking this up. Apparently the Gaelic Athletic Association, who own Croke Park, originally only let it be used for purely Irish sports, like hurling (violent field hockey) and Irish Football (which looks like Aussie Rules to me). But they relaxed that and Ireland played England at rugby union at Croke Park and they also have pop concerts now. So I kept checking and it seems like Eddie won't pay the GAA the full costs of security for 82,000 Croke Park, moaning that security at Wembley is cheaper, but the Gaelic Athletic Association are saying "get lost, you pay us rent plus security fees, we don't do discounts or freebies". Eddie seems to think they should make allowances for one of their own (Katie), but that doesn't seem to wash. Now I must go and watch milfs getting jiggy with strangers, thank you.
