But then after the replay, the ref was actually brilliant and made the right move.
Akai was out on his feet and could not intelligently defend himself.
The ref saw it up close and knew what his primary job was, and acted accordingly.

I dunno about that, man. You watching the same replay I am (@43.10 of the broadcast)? He nods his head in acknowledgement of the shot, then has enough presence to raise his gloves at the ref like "WTF, I got hit with one shot and I'm still on my feet", then walks over completely fine to his corner. For my part, that's an absolutely atrocious stoppage. At least let him get knocked down again.

No need for another knockdown. I think Akai was fcuked up and would have taken unnecessary punishment. I'm happy to agree to disagree.
