I understand Shakur Stevenson wants it for the money, not for entertainment. But why do you want Tank vs Shakur?

So as we saw when Haney offered Shakur 25% for a fight for all the belts, Shakur turned it down because it wasn’t enough money for him. At the time (and tbh even now) he didn’t have a big marquee name on his resume. So we can cur the crap and rule out the legacy talk or the “I want to fight the best”. That reasoning went out the window when he turned down Haney’s offer of 25%.

Shakur Stevenson obviously doesn’t do it for the fans either, he doesn’t do it to entertain. He does it because that’s what he knows, and he’s obviously good at it that way, not taking any risks whatsoever. Not even against construction workers with 4 KO’s on short notice. Even against a guy off the streets, he still took a whole 9 rounds to get the stoppage.

So we know Shakur doesn’t want to get in there against Tank to entertain, we know he doesn’t care what the fans think, what the media thinks. He just doesn’t do it for us, it’s clear as day and he has said as much. He would gladly get in there and stink up the place vs Tank, as long as he gets paid.

And please don’t coat this with “high level boxing”. It’s just plain boring. Bivol vs Beterbiev is high level boxing.

So now, why the hell would you subject yourself to such torture in watching Shakur Stevenson? And why do you want to see Tank vs Shakur?

That’s the only top guy available? If Stevenson is all there is for Tank, then the lower weights must be piss poor. A guy who can’t crack an egg is supposed to be the one that proves how good Tank is? A guy who runs around, jabs, and turns down high profile fights due to money?

Lomachenko is there, but he already swerved a Tank fight and might retire.

William Zepeda is there but he will be fighting Shakur Stevenson.

All those guys were completely different fighters than Stevenson. In fact, I considered mentioning how Stevenson is wrongfully compared to Mayweather way too much, but decided against it because I knew someone would bring up Mayweather. Case in point, your post. And I will get into your example in a second.

Lara was a sharpshooting technical boxer who tended to land a lot of good clean punches with a lot of snap in them. Idk about you but I thought Lara earned the fight due to his performances vs Williams, Angulo, and Trout. Prime Lara’s performances were great to look at. Lara’s performance vs Canelo was awful, and that’s why we haven’t seen him on PPV since.

Mayweather Jr had 24 KO’s in 35 fights coming into the Judah fight. Judah had 25 KO’s in 37 fights. That’s a far cry from Stevenson. I’m sorry but that’s a terrible example. Do better. That’s a 68% KO rate for Mayweather.

Rugondeaux vs Donaire, another awful example. Rigondeaux was 11-0 with 8 KO’s going into the Donaire fight. That’s a high KO rate.

I get what you’re actually trying to say, but you picked some really bad examples. You chose to mention fighters that ended up being boring after these fights. None of those fighters were seen as boring at the time.

Honestly, not interested in 135.

Lomachenko seemed to be retired, not willing to fight anybody, Tank never fought anybody good, that the other Davis and Shakur don`t really impress me.
