Smith is a good fighter. If he'd had more activity since Beterbiev, he would've stopped Buatsi. He was dominating until late when the lack of activity caught up with him and he tired a bit.

I never understood why people thought Smith was done. He's had one taxing fight in his career against Beterbiev, and that didn't go long. His loss to Canelo he was just outworked mostly, he was never hurt, just a sore arm.

So you can say he's only really had one beating in his career and it wasn't even a sustained one.

He had that arguable gift vs Ryder but again, he was just out hustled up close. He never took any punishment.

He should have plenty left. its really down to motivation. He was always a level above Buatsi. Never felt Buatsi had much of a chance unless Smith didn't have the desire, which he showed he does.

First proper world test for buatsi and he got outworked and out fought. He had his moments and looked like he could compete in there but from the first round you could see Smith was the better fighter. Inactivity and the level of opponent buatsi hasn't been great for him

Happy for Smith. Seems a good guy, lost to two better fighters. He can end career on hi note instead of being on a losing streak. He always looks kind of fragile and sometimes hurt in his fights. Dont want to see that ugly ending.
