they're likely short-sighted and just enjoying the money they have now with a fight or two per yearWhat's the deal with the Russell brothers and inactivity ? They are in the boxing business , it would make a whole lot of sense for them to actually box in the ring for paychecks. Do they have business interests that prevent them from boxing frequently ? Or is it bad management ? Or what ? Fighters not fighting seems really backwards to me.Leave a comment:

Ohh they were ranked by crooked organizations in a weak era of boxing. What wins are you wetting your panties about in Ajs career? A 40 year old coming off an extended layoff Klitchko? Other than that, all of his opposition is online with Ortiz 2x, stiverne 2x, arreola, Molina, spizilka, Washington , breazelle (who they both fought) and helenius. I know you AJ fans like to put him on some nonexistent imaginary pedestal but that’s not the reality. Not to mention wilder and fury fought 3x and he never even stepped in the ring with either. That’s a stain for him aside from his mediocre wins.Leave a comment:

Wilder faced Fury 3x, who was the best fighter in the division before he declined & Usyk took over.
Usyk still said that a shopworn Fury was the best fighter he ever faced & Wilder faced a younger, fresher version & almost knocked him out 4x.
None of those top 10 fighters mattered other than Wilder, Fury, & Joshua (until Usyk fully emerged)
Fury & Wilder faced each other 3x. Joshua missed them both.
Nobody cares about Pulev & Charles Martin.

——-Originally posted by BrankoBWhile I was reading the comments about Calzaghe, Froch, Ward I was thinking nobody asked about a match up between Ward and Calzaghe. I always used to pick against Calzaghe and Ward and always thought there would be someone to beat them but nobody did, so later on I revised my opinion and accepted their greatness. If I had to pick between the two I would go with Calzaghe by decision.
A year ago Someone did ask Bread about a Ward-Calzaghe matchup and Bread picked Calzaghe by UD.
I also pick Calzaghe by UD. I just thought Bread would have called it a pick “em fight but he didn’t.

What? Joshua beat 9 top 10 ring ranked opponents to Wilders 2. I would say that is a huge difference not to mention the quality of Joshua's wins is way better. False equivalency alert! If the half of fame had standards to the level that a hall of fame should, neither Wilder nor Joshua should get in. But since we have seen the bar lowered so much , both will possibly get in. Reporters dislike for wilder aside, if AJ gets in, so should Wilder. There isn’t anything that separates one significantly from the other. Similar quality of opponents faced, AJ was more skilled but Wilder had more one punch power and heart.Last edited by daggum; 02-16-2025, 12:57 AM.Leave a comment:
